Since the late 1970s the artist Nanne Meyer has devoted herself exclusively to the medium of drawing. The questions surrounding her relationship to the world thread throughout her oeuvre and are expressed in large series, individual drawings, and her illustrated annuals. Besides experimenting with the various relationships between textual and visual languages, her attention is mainly focused on mobile processes, repetition, transformation, transparency, disappearance, and becoming, as well as on the simultaneity of various events, energies, and speeds. The (model-like) exploration of time and space that occurs when drawing also led her to cartography.
