One of the striking features of art of the nineties is the revitalization of "institutional analysis" and a particular interest in the investigation of socio-cultural relationships. This re-orientation, above all in the field of project-oriented art, was connected with the integration of areas like anthropology, sociology and cultural studies. This bilingual book gives insight into the current international discourse on the symbolic and material exchange in art and includes examples of artistic and scientific research projects.
