This information brochure, the first in the series, discusses major issues of documenta X: the cultures of the world and their relationship to modernism, in an essay by the philosopher Jean- Christophe Bailly; and the questions raised by French author Paul Virilio on art in the "age of absolute velocity". Finally, the architect Erik Steinbrecher's "Views" will offer an insight-ful tour of the venues of documenta X in Kassel.
