In Eva & Adele: Day by Day-Painting, the Berlin artist duo, who have transformed their lives into a painstakingly designed work of art, offer new insights into a little-known complex within their creative oeuvre - watercolor paintings. The book presents seven series of watercolors completed since the "creation" of Eva & Adele. Eva and Adele work from photographic self-portraits taken every morning as they circle around one another with their cameras - emphasizing the "day-by-day" aspect of their life-art. Their made-up faces are not simply copied in true-to-life detail in their watercolors, some of which are done long after the photos are taken, but incorporated in new ways into the finished works. The act of styling their "double face," which evokes the effect of an icon, in re-enacted, so to speak, in the application of the watercolor to the paper. Exhibition schedule: nordiska akvarellmuseet, Skärhamn, Sweden, November 9, 2003 - January 25, 2004
