L.A.-ex Performances
L.A.-ex documents the spectacular performances by Diana Thater and T. Kelly Mason, Meg Cranston, Richard Jackson as well as Raymond Pettibon, Hans Weigand and Jonathan Meese, which took place at L.A.-ex, a joint project of the Bavarian State Theatre/Marstall and the museum Villa Stuck at the Marstall Munich. In an exemplary manner, the four different artistic positions from Los Angeles show the diversity of performative forms of expression in the Fine Arts of this region. Instructive texts, photo documentaries, artist's statements and a selection of quotations from international scientists about the topic of attention, all taken from the salons accompanying the performances, turn this book in the Cantz Series into a small but exquisite introduction to performance art on the American West Coast.
