Romanian Cultural Resolution
Romanian Cultural Resolution is the principal contemporary Romanian art project of the last ten years. Its four curatorial segments are devoted to twenty-seven artists. The project focuses on the political and social transition triggered by the end of communism following the fall of the Iron Curtain and perpetuated within the context of the eastward expansion of the European Union. Developed by young curators, the concept uniquely combines approaches of both artists and critics.The catalogue has been conceived in the form of a cultural resolution and analyzes the contemporary discourse and the period of “postcommunism” through art. It was the elementary experience of radical change in Romania that brought about such a cultural discourse. This volume can now present high-ranking, internationally successful artists whose works are being shown in prominent museums around the globe. Exhibition schedule: Noua Galeria, Romanian Institute for Culture and Humanistic Research, Venice, on the occasion of the 2011 Venice Biennale
