“There is something about these pictures . . .” confesses collector Frieder Burda. In the meantime, his passion for art has resulted in one of the most important and preeminent private collections in Europe. Based on Frieder Burda’s direct approach to art, Patricia Kamp and Jean-Christophe Ammann set out to select particularly energy-laden works from the collection, subjecting them to bold comparisons. Besides numerous great names, such as Picasso and Polke, the exhibition features space-consuming presentations of works by Anton Henning and Nedko Solakov, and an extensive illuminated space by James Turrell.
