The first book to provide an overview of the new “WineArchitecture” in Austria.
While star architects have been designing and creating spectacular new vineyards around the world, a unique new “WineArchitecture” scene has been attracting attention in Austria for the past few years. This new task has engendered a new architectural language that fluctuates between a sensitive approach to traditional structural forms and self-confident interpretations of contemporary building requirements. This publication features a selection of approximately seventy projects in Lower Austria, Burgenland, and Styria in the context of the new wineries in neighboring countries and developments around the world. It also discusses the origins of this unique Austrian cultural phenomenon, which since the eighties has combined wine with architecture.
