After an almost thirty-year break—we are reviving our founder’s time-honored tradition of issuing an annual calendar. Gerd Hatje carefully selected the motifs himself until well into the seventies, and every year, many a loyal customer waited with eager anticipation for his unusually elaborate calendars. Remaining true to this tradition and to the same degree of high quality, yet with his own, decidedly contemporary and skilled eye, Markus Hartmann has put together the first new issue of our calendar on the theme of contemporary landscape photography. Grand, unconventional, humorous, chastely beautiful, and sometimes disclosing their charms only at second glance, these landscapes were taken by famous, first-rate photographers as well as by younger, not-quite-so-renowned artists.
