The publication focuses on one of the most important aspects of Julio Le Parc's work-his preoccupation with changing light.
Julio Le Parc (*1928 in Mendoza) is one of the best-known kinetic artists in the world. After studying in Argentina, Le Parc moved to Paris in 1958, where he and other young artists, including François Morellet, founded GRAV (Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel) in 1960. At the time, Le Parc had already begun making his first light works and mobiles, which he continued to develop over the following years. This large-format publication contains a comprehensive selection of the Argentine artist's works using light and movement, most of which were made in the 1960s. A text by Sebastián López on Julio Le Parc and the period in which he created his light works, as well as an interview with the artist conducted by Hans-Michael Herzog, director of the Daros-Latinamerica Collection, provide exciting insights into the artist's personal world. All of the works are presented in splendid color reproductions. Exhibition schedule: Daros Exhibitions, Zurich, June 4-October 30, 2005
