The works of Munich-based sculptor and bronze caster Bruno Wank, who was born in Bavaria in 1961, are the products of a video and installation artist who thinks in terms of space and sites. His interventions display new dimensions in existing pieces of architecture. Depending on the site and building, the artist's works can expose a variety of things such as historical levels, current social and/or political problems, or even formal and aesthetic phenomena. Characteristic of Wank's installations are the sporadic, subtle changes that create immense tension between the architecture and the work, fundamentally altering the view of the situation, while the almost violent interventions are barely noticeable at first, since they work with one of the languages of form related to the original situation. Featuring selected works and projects from the early nineties to the present, this publication is the first overall view of the artist's oeuvre.
