Ars Electronica 2002 focuses on the blind spots of globalization, those barriers of a mental and geographic nature that make getting connected to and taking part in this process of global networking impossible, illicit or even unwelcome. Selected texts and exemplary projects will raise issues and discuss questions dealing with art as the scene of global conflicts and the political aspects of art. UNPLUGGED not only contains theoretical contributions but also presents positions of a young generation of media artists, and examines their consciousness of the problems confronting them.
