Coloured drawings constitute an independent body of work of fundamental importance in the output of Andy Warhol. These graphic works on paper, produced concurrently with his world- renowned photographic images and series, were crucial to Warhol's development as an artist. This publication presents 70 works by Andy Warhol from 1952 to 1960 in which watercolours are given free reign. The individual works come partly from the Sammlung Marx in the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwart Berlin, and partly from a private collection. Around half of the works in this volume have never been published before.
