Roland Gnaiger, born in Bregenz in 1951, is a leading practitioner of contemporary architecture in the Austrian Vorarlberg region. Built according to his plans in 1991/92, the school in Warth - the highest and snowiest community in the region - is an internationally acclaimed example of modern architecture in an alpine setting. This book documents the precise, holistic design of the building, which reflects in an exemplary fashion the topographic and climatic conditions and the unique cultural situation of the local community.
