EASY RIDER ROAD BOOK RELEASE PARTY

Cycling is not just a form of locomotion–it’s a way of life and a form of protest. Bike culture is in constant interaction with fashion, music, design, politics and urban planning. Presenting inspiring stories from New York to Havana, Berlin to Mexico City The Easy Rider Road Book shows the wild, subversive side of cycling and the powerful bond it can create between people. Aiming to inspire utopian thinking, it presents the bike as a vehicle for communal action that has the potential to change life in the city and, ultimately, the city itself.

On the occasion of the book’s release, the musuku – Museum of Subcultures celebrates the bicycle! On August 25, the Easy Rider Roadshow, an exhibition on two wheels showing the photos from the book, will start at Kreuzberg’s Mariannenplatz, then makes its way through the city on August 26, before heading to the release party in Spreepark on August 27.

Friends and partners will present their unique, self-built bikes, and in the evening, Louise Roussel and Océane Le Pape will show their documentary Les Échappées. In 2021, the two directors set out on a 3000 km bike tour through France to meet more than 200 women, all considered “outliers” in the world of cycling.
