Spectacular pictures of strange places
Alejandro Campins’s paintings are a sedimentation of his journeys, imagined or real, to places such as the Painted Desert in Arizona, landscapes in Tibet, different villages in Cuba, and many others. Since the 2000s, Campins has occupied a prominent place on the international art scene. Return Journeys is a survey of his work, with an emphasis on his recent series on political spaces, such as war bunkers, desert zones, and temples destroyed by fanaticism.
Alejandro Campins (1981, Manzanillo, Cuba) is a contemporary painter focused on the landscape genre. His work is the result of his travel experiences in places that defy our concepts of time and space. He lives and works between Havana and Madrid.
