Delicious, sweet, and chocolaty! Many artists are obviously fascinated by the delicate, melt-in-your-mouth consistency of chocolate. The Museum Ludwig invited twenty-one artists to design a sculpture to be cast in chocolate, and the responses were enthusiastic. Several of the selected artists had worked with chocolate before, while others found themselves using the sweet substance in a creative process for the first time. The sculpture designers included such well-known artists as Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, and Andreas Slominski, as well as a number of less familiar, though no less interesting positions - among them Karin Sander, Tom Otterness, and Nicola Torke. The sweet chocolate creations are presented in a book that bears a hardly coincidental resemblance to a bar of chocolate. Exhibition schedule: Museum Ludwig, Cologne, and Imhoff-Stollwerck-Museum, Cologne, March 17-June 19, 2005
