The Eichholteren was built in 1943; in 1989 Donald Judd was commissioned to remodel it, with the aim of creating neutral spaces equally suited to living, working, and exhibiting art. In Judd's remodeling, 'the house was rediscovered', writes Adrian Jolles, 'the spaces ordered, the proportions and symmetries organized. Out of chance there came compelling logic, out of banality, culture'. This volume in the Work Document Series includes Judd's plans and drawings as well as color photographs of the completed project.
