Right to information, correction, blocking, deletion

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, the origin of the data, their recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. In this regard and also for further questions on the subject of personal data, you can contact us at any time via the contact options listed in the imprint.

You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" address line of your browser and the lock symbol in the browser line.

Data transmission upon conclusion of a contract for the purchase and shipment of goods

Personal data will only be transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose of processing the contract and invoicing. Third parties can be, for example, payment service providers, logistics companies or affiliated companies from our publishing group (Ganske Verlagsgruppe GmbH). No further transmission of data will take place or only if you have expressly consented to this.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

In the event of important changes, for example for technical reasons, we will inform you by e-mail. The e-mail will be sent to the address given during registration.

The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal communication by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

We store the data collected during registration for the period that you are registered on our website. Your data will be deleted if you cancel your registration. Legal retention periods remain unaffected.

An informal communication by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Data transmitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or there is no longer any need to store it. Mandatory legal provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

The data provided when registering for the newsletter will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke your consent at any time. With regard to the newsletter service provider used, you will find further information in the "CleverReach" section further down in the data protection declaration.

Data deletion and storage period

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked by us as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies. In addition, data may be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the responsible party is subject, for example in accordance with retention periods under tax and commercial law such as the provisions of the German Fiscal Code (AO) relevant to the retention of document data. In addition, data may be stored in individual cases for the preservation of evidence within the framework of the statutory limitation provisions. According to the statutes of limitation of the German Civil Code (BGB), these statutes of limitation can be up to 30 years in some cases; the regular statute of limitations is three years. In those cases where the data is still only stored for the purposes mentioned, it is blocked for other purposes. If storage of the data is no longer necessary for the fulfilment of contractual or legal obligations, your data will be deleted.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device. Cookies help us to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.

Some cookies are "session cookies." Such cookies are deleted automatically at the end of your browser session. On the other hand, other cookies remain on your terminal device until you delete them yourself. Such cookies help us to recognise you when you return to our website.

With a modern web browser, you can monitor, restrict or prevent the setting of cookies. Many web browsers can be configured so that cookies are deleted automatically when the program is closed. Disabling cookies may result in limited functionality of our website.

The setting of cookies that are necessary to carry out electronic communication processes or the provision of certain functions desired by you (e.g. shopping cart) is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and smooth provision of our services. If other cookies are set (e.g. for analysis functions), these are treated separately in this data protection declaration. In principle, these are only set with your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO), which you have given us in the data protection settings via the "cookie banner" when calling up the website. You can revoke this consent or change your personal cookie settings at any time via the "Privacy settings" icon at the bottom left of the website.

YouTube (extended data protection mode)

We use services from YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a subsidiary of Google Inc, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, on our website. For users who have their habitual residence in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland is the controller of your data.

Here, we use the enhanced privacy option provided by YouTube to protect your personal data. When you call up a page in which a YouTube video is embedded, a connection is established to the YouTube servers and the content is displayed on the website by informing your browser. According to YouTube's information, however, data is only transmitted to the YouTube server in "extended data protection mode" when you actively start the video. If you are logged in to YouTube at this time, the information about the videos you have viewed will be assigned to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website. Insofar as data is processed outside the European Economic Area / the EU, where there is no level of data protection corresponding to the European standard, Google states that it uses standard contractual clauses.

The use of YouTube is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
Further information on YouTube data protection is provided by Google under the following link: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

If you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. The data controller for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").

Scope of processing
Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of our websites. The information collected by means of the cookies about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
We use Google Signals. This allows Google Analytics to collect additional information about users who have activated personalised ads (interests and demographics) and ads can be delivered to these users in cross-device remarketing campaigns.

Google Analytics 4 has IP anonymisation enabled by default. Due to IP anonymisation, your IP address will be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
During your website visit, your user behaviour is recorded in the form of "events".

Events can be:

  • Page views
  • First visit to the website
  • Start of session
  • Your "click path", interaction with the website
  • Scrolls (whenever a user scrolls to the bottom of the page (90%))
  • Clicks on external links
  • Internal search queries
  • interaction with videos
  • ads seen / clicked on

Also recorded:

  • your approximate location (region)
  • your IP address (in shortened form)
  • technical information about your browser and the end devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
  • your internet service provider
  • the referrer URL (via which website/advertising medium you came to this website)

Purposes of the processing

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your (pseudonymous [NOT USER ID]) use of the website and compiling reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics are used to analyse the performance of our website [OPTIONAL] and the success of our marketing campaigns.

Recipient

Recipients of the data are/could be
Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as processor according to Art. 28 DSGVO)
Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Alphabet Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
It cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access the data stored by Google.
Third country transfer
Where data is processed outside the EU/EEA and there is no level of data protection equivalent to the European standard, we have concluded EU standard contractual clauses with the service provider to establish an appropriate level of data protection. The parent company of Google Ireland, Google LLC, is based in California, USA. A transfer of data to the USA and access by US authorities to the data stored by Google cannot be ruled out. The USA is currently considered a third country from a data protection perspective. You do not have the same rights there as within the EU/EEA. You may not have any legal remedies against access by authorities.

Storage period
The data sent by us and linked to cookies are automatically deleted after 14 months. Data whose retention period has been reached is automatically deleted once a month.

Legal basis
The legal basis for this data processing is your consent in accordance with Art.6 Para.1 S.1 lit.a DSGVO.

Revocation
You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect by accessing the cookie settings via the "privacy settings" icon at the bottom left of the website and changing your selection there. The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation remains unaffected.

Alternatively, you can prevent the storage of cookies from the outset by setting your browser software accordingly. However, if you configure your browser to reject all cookies, functionalities on this and other websites may be restricted. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie or downloading and installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics HERE. If you pay with PayPal, the payment data you enter may be transmitted to PayPal. Please also refer to PayPal's data protection information. CleverReach

This website uses CleverReach to send newsletters. The provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, MĂĽhlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede. CleverReach is a service with which the newsletter dispatch can be organised and analysed. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. e-mail address) is stored on CleverReach's servers in Germany or Ireland.

Our newsletters sent with CleverReach enable us to analyse the behaviour of the newsletter recipients. Among other things, we can analyse how many recipients have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked. With the help of so-called conversion tracking, it can also be analysed whether a predefined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) has taken place after clicking on the link in the newsletter. For more information on data analysis through CleverReach newsletters, please visit: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/.

The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

If you do not want any analysis by CleverReach, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message. Furthermore, you can also unsubscribe directly on the website.

The data you provide us with for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of CleverReach after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.

For more details, please refer to the data protection provisions of CleverReach at: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

Our website uses Google AdWords. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States.

AdWords is an online advertising programme. As part of the online advertising programme, we work with conversion tracking. After a click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that your web browser stores on your end device. Google AdWords cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. The cookie allows Google and us to recognise that you have clicked on an ad and have been redirected to our website.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies are not traceable through AdWords customers' websites. Conversion cookies are used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. AdWords customers learn how many users clicked on their ad and were redirected to pages with a conversion tracking tag. However, AdWords customers do not receive any information that enables personal identification of users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to its use. In this case, the conversion cookie must be deactivated in the user settings of the browser. In this way, it will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of "conversion cookies" is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. DSGVO, which you have given us in the data protection settings via the "cookie banner" when calling up the website. You can revoke this consent or change your personal cookie settings at any time via the "Privacy settings" icon at the bottom left of the website.
Details on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

With a modern web browser, you can monitor, restrict or disable the setting of cookies. Disabling cookies may result in limited functionality of our website.

Google Web Fonts (online or offline variant)

For the uniform display of fonts on our website, we use web fonts from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The responsible party for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

When you access our website, the necessary data is loaded into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the online version of Google Web Fonts requires a connection to Google's servers and personal data, in particular the IP address, may be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support web fonts or prevents access, a standard font from your computer will be used.

In the offline variant, the Google Fonts are stored locally on our web server. The fonts can then be managed - using CSS - as with any other font family. The IP address and other data are not transferred to Google.

Insofar as data is processed outside the EEA, where there is no level of data protection corresponding to the European standard, we have concluded EU standard contractual clauses with the service provider to establish a secure level of data protection.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq
and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

In the case of the online version, data is only collected and stored after express consent has been given in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. a) DSGVO. This consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future via the "Data protection settings".

The use of Google Web Fonts in the offline variant is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers with regard to efficiency and cost-saving considerations. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

You can find out whether the specific website you are visiting uses the online or offline variant of Google Web Fonts from the information in the data protection settings via the "cookie banner".

Facebook Pixel

This website uses the visitor action pixel from Facebook for conversion measurement. The provider of this service is Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. However, according to Facebook, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.

In this way, the behavior of page visitors can be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows the effectiveness of the Facebook ads to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimized.

The collected data is anonymous for us as the operator of this website, we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook Data Use Policy. This allows Facebook to enable the placement of advertisements on Facebook pages as well as outside of Facebook. This use of the data cannot be influenced by us as the site operator.

The use of Facebook Pixel is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising measures including social media. If a corresponding consent has been requested (e.g., consent to store cookies), the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) a DSGVO; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum and https://de-de.facebook.com/help/566994660333381.

You can find further information on protecting your privacy in Facebook's privacy notices: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also deactivate the "Custom Audiences" remarketing function in the Ad Settings section at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. To do this, you must be logged into Facebook.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable usage-based advertising from Facebook on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.
